Organic Surrealism in Wood,Stone or Bronze
“I am a student of form. Rather than study the work of man, I go directly to the source and create with the Hand that Creates all form. Fresh and organic, my art speaks out for natural life and connects with the underlying mysteries of nature, each piece of sculpture , a conduit for those who would grow into natural creative life forms.”
Robert Gottschall is an American sculptor based in Wimberley , Texas. He prefers working with walnut wood burls, stone and bronze, or a fusion of all three. Although his work can be associated with Neo-Surrealistic movement; his sculptures generally reflect flowing organic forms with an intellectual component that explores the depths of human mythology.
A professional artist for years, with countless one man exhibitions, his work can be found in collection across the country. RBG has created memorials and commissioned sculptural projects in conjunction with churches, professional unions and individual families adding his design and expertise to create timeless memorials for generations to come.
